Suicide Bomber killed in karachi

As MQM and Altaf Hussain contineouly pointing towards growing threat of Talebans in karachi, karachiites just escaped from a suicide attack as a Police Guard shot a Suicide Bomber who is out to loot a bank.

Talebans in karachi are involved in Serious crimes including bank dacoities and the money they sent to Afghanistan and FATA for terrorism activities.

Now the questions arises why people mostly do not belong to karachi are denying these talebans threat to karachi ?

I guess they want to destroy Karachi and crush MQM and Urdu speaking people from the hands of these talebans.

Taleban Terrorists Attacked Imtiaz Alam

Taleban Terrorists attacked an outspoken journalist Imtiaz Alam, who is quite vocal against taleban in Print and Electronic Media.

SAFMA secretary general Imtiaz Alam attacked

* Assault followed by threatening phone call
* Veteran journalist says will not stop speaking out against terror

By Adnan Lodhi

LAHORE: Unidentified men attacked senior journalist Imtiaz Alam late on Wednesday.

Imtiaz Alam, who is the secretary general of South Asian Free Media
Association (SAFMA), said he was travelling to his house in Doctor’s
Colony at about 11pm when four men attacked his car with batons. Alam
was injured when a shattered window glass struck his arm.

After battering the vehicle for several minutes, the bearded men clad in
shalwar kamiz fled on their motorcycles. Alam said the men were aged
between 25 and 30.

His wife, Dr Nusrat Habib, told Daily Times
she heard the men thrashing the car – not too far away from the house.
She said she saw the men as they fled.

Alam said he received a telephone call from a cell phone (0323 4580562) about 45 minutes later
that warned him of ‘dire consequences’ if he told anyone about the
attack.

A local resident said the six men had been hiding in the
street waiting for the car to approach. Four of them attacked the
vehicle and two looked on, he said.

Shadman Station House Officer Hamad Akhtar said an FIR had been registered and a probe would begin soon.

The veteran journalist said the ‘cowardly act’ was meant to stop him from
speaking out against terrorism, but vowed to continue to raise his
voice.

Daily Times Editor-in-Chief Najam Sethi said this was an
act of terrorism and an attack on independent media. He urged the
democratic government to take the attack on Alam seriously.

Sindh Police accepts that Majority of Talebans in Karachi are Pathans and Threat to Karachi

In an exclusive interview with Barbara Plett of BBC, Raja Umer Khattab a Senior Officer of Karachi Police, accepts the threat of Talebans in karachi and confirms that these Talebans are involved in henious crimes in karachi including Kidnapping for ransom and Bank Dacoities.

The sources in Police Department told BBC that Network of Taleban Militants are become dangerous for the city.
The Police Sources also told BBC that

"There is also a considerable number from South Punjab, but the jihadi network increasingly has a Pashtun face.

"By default, that means it is the Taleban who have an increased network and clout within the city."

Raj Umer Khattab himself accepts " that most of the militants active in Karachi belong to Afghanistan or Pakistan's tribal areas."

SP Raja Umer Khattab is quite clear, though, that the militants remain a clear and present danger to Karachi and Pakistan.

"If you carry out any act of terrorism in Karachi, you send a message all over the world.

"At the moment, they appear to be lying low, but that could change as the [fighting] front broadens in the north-west." He Told BBC.

From many months Altaf Hussain Leader of MQM continuously pointing towards the increasing threat of Talebans in karachi, but most of the enemies of karachi like Jamat e Islami, ANP and other religo political parties always criticize MQM and Altaf Hussain for pointing towards Taleban Activities in Karachi and thier aim to conquer Karachi for their vested interests but after this BBC report in which a high ranking Police Officer is confirming the Taleban Threat in Karachi it is clear that what Altaf Hussain is saying is right.

I urge my fellow karachities to keep an eye on these Talebans (Majority Pathans) check their activities and pepare themselves for ANYTHING including all out war.

Karachi tackles growing Taleban

Karachi tackles growing Taleban

By Syed Shoaib Hasan
BBC News, Karachi

For the members of Karachi's Anti-Violence Crime Cell (AVCC), it was supposed to be a routine raid.

The elite anti-terror squad is used to playing a significant role in carrying out the arrests of high-profile terror suspects.

It has been involved in hundreds of raids and dozens of shootouts against hardened and trigger-happy bandits and suspected terrorists.

As such the operation on 15 January in Karachi's Sohrab Goth, a shanty town ridden with crime, was seen to hold few surprises for the detectives.

They could not have been more wrong - as the four-strong advance party, led by AVCC chief and police superintendent Farooq Awan, discovered. They were taken hostage by armed gunmen.

As the back-up force swooped in, the desperate gunmen first shot the hostages and then opened fire on incoming police vehicles.

Mr Awan was among dozens wounded, but two policemen were killed in the hail of bullets.

The gunmen subsequently made good their escape through the narrow streets of the shanty town.

'Jihadi network'

"It was a classic case of lack of information," says a senior police official who was involved in the following investigation.

At the moment, [the Taleban] appear to be lying low, but that could change
Raja Umar Khattab,
police superintendent

"The fact that Mr Awan, one of the best anti-terror officers on the force, had gaps in his information shows how unpredictable and dangerous the militant network in the city has become."

According to the official, the main reason for this is the influx of new militants to Karachi, primarily from North West Frontier Province.

"There is also a considerable number from South Punjab, but the jihadi network increasingly has a Pashtun face.

"By default, that means it is the Taleban who have an increased network and clout within the city."

But the officer adds words of caution to his analysis of the situation.

"Please don't take this to mean that complete Talebanisation has started in Karachi - that is certainly not happening."

But what of the Taleban themselves?

"We're here for business - not to fight," says Shabbir, a member of the Pakistani Taleban. "But we do have people here."

Shabbir - not his real name - agreed to talk to us about what is happening in Karachi on condition of anonymity.

After a late-night rendezvous, we drive around the city to hear what it is like to be a Taleban member in Karachi today.

"The last time I went to fight was to Afghanistan about a year ago," he says.

But now, he says, it is increasingly difficult to navigate across the Pakistani border.

"Only veterans who have been going there since the fight against the Soviets can cross now."

Most of the fighters are now locals.

While Shabbir agrees there is a Taleban presence within Karachi, he says there is no grand plan to take over the city.

"The people who talk about the Taleban taking over have no concept of military strategy.

"It would take a massive army to take over Karachi, much more than there are Taleban here."

But the most important fact that Shabbir admits grimly is the lack of local support.

"The people here do not believe in our kind of ideology. I don't see the Taleban taking over Karachi over the next 10 to 15 years."

Robberies and kidnappings

Shabbir is not alone in his evaluation of the situation on the ground.

Police superintendent Raja Umar Khattab has been at the forefront of the struggle against Muslim militants since 9/11.

He is an officer in operational charge of the provincial anti-terrorism Criminal Investigation Department, has won a national gallantry award and has been the target of a militant assassination attempt last year when he was seriously injured in a bomb attack on his vehicle.

But despite his close encounters, he remains closely involved in monitoring the militants' activities.

"Here there are no video shops destroyed by militants, no [Islamic] sharia courts and there are no no-go areas because of a strong Taleban presence.

"These three elements not are not here, so we cannot say the Taleban are taking over Karachi."

Mr Khattab does accept however, that most of the militants active in Karachi belong to Afghanistan or Pakistan's tribal areas.

"But they are not involved in militant activity over here - rather they focus on bank robberies and kidnappings to finance the fight back home," he says.

"Another major reason is that the Karachi police has been particularly effective in cracking down on such activities."

He is quite clear, though, that the militants remain a clear and present danger to Karachi and Pakistan.

"If you carry out any act of terrorism in Karachi, you send a message all over the world.

"At the moment, they appear to be lying low, but that could change as the [fighting] front broadens in the north-west."

And while people like Shabbir make themselves ready and available, that scenario remains a possibility.

Why Imran Khan Wants Restoration of Iftikhar Chaudhry ?

Imran Khan now a days advocating restoration of Iftikhar Chaudhry , the Corrupt Judge who used his influence as a Chief Justice of Pakistan to recruit his son in different higher posts, Iftikhar Chaudhry is the one who against all norms and against code of conduct meant for Judges had personal relationship with Musharraf, and after a reference moved against him destroy the Judiciary to save his skin. But I am quite amused from the fact that a person who is according to Islamic Law should be Stoned to death is wowing to impose Shariah in Pakistan if he gets the Government.

Anyways Imran Khan is advocating Iftikhar Chaudhry issue, that is only alive In Punjab as the people of Sindh Balochistan and NWFP are quite aware from this fact that this Iftikhar Chaudhry issue is only an ethnic Issue used by the Politicians of Punjab to Destabilize the Governement of Musharraf and now using it to destabilize an elected Government of Sindh.

Imran Khan is quite vocal on this issue, he wants Iftikhar Chaudhry Judiciary because Imran Khan is according to 1973 Constitution of Pakistan do not meet the requirements of a person who can take part in elections.

For the Education of my readers here are extracts from Constitution of Pakistan.

[62. Qualifications for membership of Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament). A person shall not be qualified to be elected or chosen as a member of Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament) unless :- (a) he is a citizen of Pakistan; [64B][(b) he is, in the case of the National Assembly, not less than twenty -five years of age and is enrolled as a voter in any electoral roll in- (i) any part of Pakistan, for election to a general seat or a seat reserved for non-Muslims; and (ii) any area in a Province from which he seeks membership for election to a seat reserved for women.] (c) he is, in the case of Senate, not less than thirty years of age and is enrolled as a voter in any area in a Province or, as the case may be, the Federal Capital or the Federally Administered Tribal Areas, from where he seeks membership; (d) he is of good character and is not commonly known as one who violates Islamic Injunctions; (e) he has adequate knowledge of Islamic teachings and practises obligatory duties prescribed by Islam as well as abstains from major sins ; (f) he is sagacious, righteous and non-profligate and honest and ameen; (g) he has not been convicted for a crime involving moral turpitude or for giving false evidence; (h) he has not, after the establishment of Pakistan, worked against the integrity of the country or opposed the Ideology of Pakistan Provided that the disqualifications specified in paragraphs (d) and (e) shall not apply to a person who is a non-Muslim, but such a person shall have good moral reputation; and (i) he possesses such other qualifications as may be prescribed by Act of Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament).]
From the Extracts of Constitution of Pakistan it is quite clear that Imran Khan who is involved in many Un Islamic activities including extra marital affairs with women and having an illegitimate child, can’t even participate in Elections, and this is the reason why Imran Khan is so vocal for the restoration of Iftikhar Chaudhry, the corrupt judge who can allow Imran Khan to contest elections in return for the support now.

Imran Khan can’t participate in elections according to 1973 elections but also should be Stoned to Death for Adultery according to Islamic Laws.
